Portraits of New Mexico

So we're back in our little cloud house at the top of the hill in Albuquerque, but after having been away from New Mexico for a few days (watching brilliant husband present at medical imaging conference/spending time with amazing in-laws in San Diego) one misses the little idiosyncrasies found only in this state. eg: previous image of thing hanging from telephone wires. I don't even know what the above picture is, but if you google New Mexico images this is the sort of thing you will find.

And so, another function of this blog will be to share the loveliness of the bizarre which is life in New Mexico. I found above image because I was trying to find a picture of a man riding a bicycle balancing three parrots on the handlebars, which I saw myself a few days ago here in Albuquerque, where one can rely on seeing parrots riding on bicycle bars every now and then.

I can not keep silent anymore!!! After those last few posts I am overflowing with thankfulness and gratitude to God for his richest blessings!!!

For a new life to come - what a humbling picture and soon we will be seeing the first images of a son/daughter/ nephew/ niece, grandson/granddaughter.
Yeah!!!!

For your accomplishment of at least a draft of the big project.

For Oliver's success in his presentation with the hopes/dreams/ promises of a glowing future.

For your safe return to New Mexico - your new home.

For your endearing phone calls - the desire to connect with your past - and thinking of your mom who no longer is pouring over the net looking at flowers, flower girl dresses, ribbons, invitations, Michigan mints, sparklers, ie. whatever am I doing now???

For new fallen snow - a reminder of God's grace in our lives - a new slate - a fresh new day -
a beginning - clean - pure

For New Mexico - a reminder of God's creativity - a whole new terrain for those who grew up surrounded by green corn fields, trees, and blue grass.

So, how's that for my first attempt at a blog!!! I may be moving into this generation after all.

Love you forever

i love mom's comment. as for strange and beautiful new mexico and the shoes on the wires- i went to a skateboarding exhibit at an art museaum today, and what to you think i saw on a skateboard? nothing but the silhouette of shoes over a telephone wire! indiana is very strange too, just not as beautiful.

Thanks Gran-dot (love the way it sounds, btw). Welcome to the blogosphere; congratulations on breaking through--I love what you said.

Boo: Look up the shoes on the telephone wire at snopes.com. It's actually kind of a fascinating urban legend.

Love you both!
