My cousin Eric has always been more my older brother, which I completely cherish as the oldest of four. He is heavy on our hearts now as he has been serving in Iraq for the past 6 months, and more so lately since suffering some minor but painful injuries. Pray for him, for a speedy recovery, for his band of brothers, and for his safe and speedy return.
My cousin not only taught me about Darth Vader and treehouses and the fact that he was related to E.T. (since they both had the same intials), but he has taught me about what it means to be a faithful servant. Eric lives out of his way, for the people next to him and the fellow citizens who are now far across the sea. God blessed us both greatly when He wove our lives into the same camp (see L.I.F.T.), where He both drew us nearer to Himself and dearer to each other. Amazingly this little camp is the same place where our great grandmother used to walk the beaches, perhaps praying for us.
We love you, cousin, and your Heart of greatness, wherever you are. Get well soon. Come home soon.

we'll be praying for your cousin, summer!
by the way, we missed you at church today!!
The latest word on your cousin from Papa who just returned from a visit with him in Germany - Eric is on the mend, getting some dental work completed and then is scheduled to return to Iraq. He will not be flying, but will be helping out his squadron in completing other daily tasks. We are all thankful for God's protective hand over him and for the people who cared for him.
