Since my scar only hurts some of the time now instead of all of the time, I figured I was ready to start getting back into shape. Of course this has something to do with wanting to wear the rest of the clothes in my closet and not buying more pregnant-girl fall clothes. But even more, I want to feel like I could run across the street to rescue Heidi if her stroller got blown away by the wind. This sounds unlikely, but two days ago at Trader Joe's her stroller really did blow away and hit the parked car next to us. I mean, she only traveled two feet, but still it was Very scary! The guy whose car it was saw the whole thing since he was putting groceries into his trunk. He was cool about it all. So basically I need to be ready to bust a move to grab her in case it happens again.
And so we went to Stroller Strength this morning. Back in the spring we joined New Mexico Sports and Wellness during a promo they were running and I am so thankful for it. It comes with many free pregnancy and infant fitness classes and I think it will be a great way to bounce back from carrying a child and having surgery. These moms are hardcore even with their strollers. In between sets we had to run a lap--I'm not up to running yet, so I walked with the stroller, but man some of these moms were running with their two-year-olds on their hips! I'm like, don't fall (cause that would so be me). Once I did fall while carrying my two-year-old cousin and somehow she didn't get hurt. And I was just walking that time. But my very favorite thing about the class is watching other moms freak out when their babies cry. It's not like we aren't all in the same boat. I feel bad when Heidi cries in settings that are may not be kid friendly, but Stroller Strength has got to be the most sympathetic audience out there, other than our own PPC.
And it was fun seeing a whole nother crowd of new mommies and little babies. I feel like I've truly arrived into Stay-at-Home-Momland. It wasn't as much fun as the Hip Hop class I took with Kandid Kiwi only a year and a half ago, but it comes pretty close. I'm wondering if we can have a Flashdance day and all dress up like the 80s.

Kudos to you for getting into shape already! My "normal" clothes are calling out to me as well. Now if I can just dust off that treadmill...
