The Evidence

I have been waiting all year to get Heidi this gorgeous fairy furniture for her little wooden fairy house. Only the best for my child, right?
She seemed to like it--and kind of played with it a little bit, but then resorted to the toys she really loves:

Such as an old potting basket filled with random bits of whatev: old cell phone, stretched out hobby lobby necklace, and some cut up pieces of a Highlights Magazine.
And my personal favorite: the broken off leg of a walmart doll high chair and one of mom's old make-up brushes. These she will not part with.

Another major source of entertainment: making a "nest" out of all the pillows on Mommy & Daddy's bed before dropping off. I'm pretty sure that's a luggage tag you see her sleeping with. And Heidi is sleeping in a dress because she refuses to wear anything else, including normal pajamas.

Choose your battles. Choose your battles.

I can already hear my mom laughing at this post, because I think she went through similar bewilderment with one of her children. I forget which.

Meanwhile, I'm enjoying having the fairy house all to myself.

You are so right - I was laughing out loud!!! And of course, I remember which child it was :)! You carried around a little purse full of totally random items - rocks, lots of rock, shells, bark, couple of puzzle pieces, and some little books that would fit in the little purse - and off you'd go!

i want that fairy furniture! so cute!

i've recently been laughing at kendall's collections she gets. it consists of a rock (or two), an old cell phone, a stirrer stick from starbucks, a bobby pin, and some sort of figurine (cookie monster, currently).

Kate totally does that thing where she carries stuff around like a miniature bag lady. Meanwhile ignoring actual toys. Haha.

Jax has a little plastic tooth pick container that holds a smooth rock with circles that he found with aunt boo at lake michigan, and a shark tooth.

I still have my box of "stuff" in my closet. Mom keeps threatening to pitch in out. I want it in my coffin. I love that stuff!
