It may have been noticed already that I have a bit of a fixation with horizons. They remind me of Mark Rothko--or at least Rothko justifies my taking lots of photos of them, even though, as husband points out, I'm breaking the rule of thirds.

But it's not just the physical beauty that draws me--it's of course, the metaphors I love and cling to--horizons seem to say something about being sure of what we hope for, and clinging to what we do not see--something about a reality beyond what we see, a hope and a future.

And, after receiving my third school rejection this week, I love even more these thoughts--of surety, of hope, and a future.

So the song here is slow to come and weak at first, but still one of thankfulness--for times like this, while small, that remind one of the harsh and beautiful reality of faith. His ways are higher than our ways.

And a song of prayer--that one might not just feel faith, but live it and obey it wholeheartedly in love to Heaven and our neighbors on earth.

Oh, and by the way, this is dedicated to my brother David, who graduates in May, and is probably thinking about horizons all the time--thanks for your call today bro; we'll talk soon!
