The race started at 7 a.m., and it was awesome to see the balloons on their sides as the sun rose.

Husband was amazingly supportive and giving--especially since he had to spend the rest of the day locked up in a lab. Throughout the race he would find me at random places and cheer me on.

Our friend Six Bit was also there for the marathon. When you see people you know at the starting line, you defintely feel like a true runner.

The beginning was fun and easy, especially with the beautiful balloons taking off right over our heads.

Then it got harder--this is about mile 9, at which point I realized I really should have trained.

But at the finish line, I was met by Pinky, AB & C, and A & C finished with me! That definitely gave me some much needed adrenaline. I have this sneaking suspicion that they came to watch Six Bit and not me, but it was just so good to see them!

And dear husband had bought me a bottle of Gator Aid, for which I was v. thankful.

So, so, so proud of my sweet, beautiful wife! It was pure happiness to see her smile coming around various bends in the race course. Good job, wife. Very glad you allowed me to be a part of this experience.
Wow what great pictures! You make me sad I slept in and missed the start of the race.
You did so good - I'm proud of you, too. Especially since it could've been so easy to not show up because you hadn't trained enough or at all (whatever the case may be)!

The blessings of a wonderful wife are virtually endless. Through her, by God's grace, I have you as our firstborn. What a gorgeous, articulate, insightful daughter. Thank you for the pics. Thank you Mr. J for being such a supportive husband to our daughter.
We love both of you.

Lady Hope,
In answer to your question, Albuquerque was named after a Spanish Viceroy that "claimed the land for Spain.
I thought Albuquerque meant "sombrero in the valley of of the crying buffalo"
