In case you can't see the photo, it contains lyrics to one of my all-time favorite hymns ever: "I'll Fly Away!"
There were two things that struck me most at the PCA Women in the Church conference:
1. Presbyertian women have a fairly unified asthetic in clothes, hair, music, jewelry, etc. Every lady there looked vaguely familiar to me, as if I knew them all from somewhere else. We like twinsets, pearls, headbands, and Vera Bradley bags. Actually it wasn't so much our taste that hit me as the fact that there were so many of us. I felt overwhelmed by our huge presence, by our powerful, unified voice singing hymns and yes, even using power point. I realized what a large movement the PCA really is, and was encouraged by the fact that there are so many of us striving together.
2. In such large numbers, we ought to be changing the world. Not because God needs it from us, but because if so many women (cute accessories and all) are truly loving our God and acting for His glory, there should be a widespread echo sounding to His Kingdom. Perhaps there is one resounding in Heaven. Most of the speakers talked about devotion to the church (Paige Benton Brown) and reaching out to the unsaved, particularly those women who are victims of abuse and trafficking (Diane Langberg) and those who suffer from physically (Joni Eareckson Tada). I came away with a great desire to reach outside of the church to those who are suffering, to the poor and needy. May the Lord remember them through us. May He not delay.

How I marvel at what God has done to my kids, and is doing through them. Your sensibilities continue to be sanctified. Your insights into holiness continue to sharpen. As we have said in the past to each of you...."you are fast becoming what you're going to be." As a father, it is a blessing to observe.
