Wal-mart on Good Friday

I went to Wal-mart to buy brown rice.

But the strawberries were only .98/lb so I bought two lbs. of those. And the bananas were only .49/lb so I bought a bunch of those. Then I remembered I wanted to dye eggs, so I bought a dye kit for only $1.88. And then I thought I would check on the ice cream prices and Girl Scout Cookie ice cream only cost $3.88!

And everyone was sharing my glee. The two women picking out potatoes and arguing about what to serve on Sunday, the one examing the four-foot tall Easter baskets filled with pre-chosen toys and themes, and the young couple with the baby.

The air itself was filled with the sounds of the market, of children screaming and people reaching and all the songs of the Least of These.

Everything was so cheap, so affordable. So much for so little.

So Little For So Much.

Hey there! I shared in your Wal-Mart excitement today. I actually commented to Patrick that even on a holiday our Wal-Mart is not as packed as Abq's on a regular day. We are getting some sort of "Signature Wal-Mart" here soon. I guess they will have "higher line stuff." But I think I'll have more fun when the Ikea gets finished! It's been fun to share in your shopping excitement. Good night and hope you have a blessed Resurrection Sunday! ~Jasmine

Thanks, Jasmine!

I was trying to be ironic about how we are so eager to spend the least amount to get the most, where God gave the Most for the least of us--sort of my Wal-mart epiphany.

I hope your Sunday was blessed as well.
